The human foot is a masterpiece of engineering and a work of art. – Leonardo Da Vinci

I’ve been working with feet and shoes for over a decade to improve health and fitness. The more I learn about the foot, the more I respect the foot and realize this is where we need to begin… from the ground up! The first part of our body to hit the ground with forward gait is our feet–if something is not right with our feet, these issues can travel right up our chain of movement to decrease our efficiency and decrease our safety. Humans are the ONLY animals that walk completely upright on two legs; therefore, our feet are extremely important for maintaining our “vertical column” so we do not fall. Since we only have two feet instead of four, our base of support is very narrow for such a tall vertical column. All of this means our feet (and shoes) are very important to our overall movement–and even health. I hope my site helps you with your feet, your movement, your safety, and your overall quality of life. – RJ
